School Social Worker - April 3, 2018

April 3, 2018:

The South Macoupin Association for Special Education is seeking a full time, permanent School Social Worker, starting in the 2018-2019 school term. The school social worker serves two member districts of the South Macoupin Association for Special Education. Services are primarily provided to students with disabilities.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Provide group and individual counseling to students.
  2. Complete and report on social developmental studies.
  3. Provide linkages to outside resources.
  4. Write and implement IEP goals.
  5. Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments
  6. Collaborate with professionals on behavioral interventions.

Qualified individuals will hold a Professional Educators License (PEL) with a School Service Personnel in Social Work endorsement.

Classroom Assistant - Ongoing Search

The South Macoupin Association for Special Education is seeking a Classroom Assistant for immediate employment. The location of the position is in the Gillespie CUSD 7. The State of Illinois requires a Paraprofessional License for this position. To obtain this license, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, along with at least 30 semester hours of college credit or an associates degree.

Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing

The South Macoupin Association for Special Education (SMASE)is seeking a DHH instructor to provide direct service for students eligible for deaf and hard of hearing services. The DHH teacher will provide resources to students, teachers and family, will ensure accommodations are provided to students, will participate in and write IEPs, and will help troubleshoot FM systems and hearing aids. This position is full time or part time, depending on the needs of the candidate. Professional Educator’s License with appropriate endorsement of Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing is required.
